Why Manicure Sets Are Handy

Manicure sets range from simple ones to those that are more complicated to use. You can buy one from a local drug or department store. A regular manicure set consists of a nail clipper, nail file, cuticle pusher, a pair of tweezers and finger nail scissors. Most of these manicure sets come in either plastic or leather cases with each item having its own compartment to hold it in place. The leather one has a zipper to keep all the tools intact and closed. These kits are very useful during an emergency broken fingernail or hang nail. These simple kits are very handy.

These days you get manicure kits that are more elaborate and complex. The cases they come in are quite fancy when compared to the simple leather ones. The latest manicure sets have replaced the cuticle pusher with an orange stick. The orange stick is used to push the cuticles back. These kits also have nail polish remover, cotton, and sticky tapes for foolproof French manicures, toe separator thingies and different color nail polishes. The cases too come in a wide range of colors and designs.

Apart from the traditional manicure kits, you can buy a wide range of kits from beauty retail outlets or department stores. The designs and colors of the kits appeal to all age groups. You may even buy kits that are more sophisticated and classy for older people. The sizes of these manicure kits vary, from the compact ones that are ideal for traveling and carrying in your purse to those that are more bulky and elaborate for using at home.

If you are not sure about what you are looking for, then buy kits that are pre-assembled and then slowly you can add more tools to it. Buy all the basic tools that you will require and then buy the fancy stuff as and when required.

You can always update the tools in your manicure set as when you feel the need to do it. To avoid the spread of bacteria and fungus you must make sure to replace your emery boards on a regular basis. Do not use polishes that are more than a year old, do not use fingernail polish remover that is too old either. Do not add remover to your thick polish - instead buy a new color. Using old polish and remover will damage your nails and make them unhealthy.
