Why Manicures Are Loved So Much

One of the best ways to get pampered is to get a manicure. It makes you look and feel good, giving you a chance to get away from the cares of the world and helping you relax for a while. Today manicures are not only a way to make your nails look healthy and good, but also a method of relaxing and transforming you into a state of well being. Manicures now come in packages that include techniques to relax and massages.

Almost all salons that give manicures have their personnel trained to give massages - they may not be therapists with a license but they have enough expertise to massage using the right pressure on your hands and feet. These massages are so relaxing that your feel transported into a state of ecstasy. Most of these salons have massage chairs and make you sit on them to relax while you get you nails and feet done. These chairs give you a good back massage for a great relaxed experience. It is inexpensive to give yourself a manicure when compared to the expenses that you will incur at a spa to give yourself a massage.

The "heat therapy" is the next best thing that you may receive while getting a manicure done. The heat therapy is very relaxing and has a calming effect on the body. When your hands are immersed in warm mitts in order to make your skin soft it helps relax the muscles in the area. You could always club a manicure and a pedicure, this will only enhance your relaxation and make you feel good when your feet are put into a warm and bubbling footbath and then given a complete leg and foot massage.

It is a magnificent experience to receive a manicure at a salon, but not all can afford this experience and lavish treatment. Sometimes when you lack both time and money to give yourself such an experience at a nail salon, you can give yourself this experience at home by following simple tips. It is not very difficult to do a manicure at home if you have a little time and the right tools.

To begin with you need to get hold of the right tools first. Get yourself a pair of nail clippers, nail file, cuticle pusher or orange sticks, nail scissors, nail polish remover and your favorite color nail polish. You will also need some lotion to soften your cuticles, warming mitts, a footbath and paraffin wax machine. In the absence of a footbath you could use a tub with warm water to soak your feet.

The next thing to do is to push your cuticles behind with a cuticle pusher or orange stick and remove any debris from under your nails, using the nail scissors to remove any hang or broken nails or outgrown cuticles. Clip and file your nails to the length and the shape you prefer.

If you would like to give yourself a massage, do it before applying nail polish to your nails. By using your thumbs you can apply a little pressure to the palms of your hands, and then massage each finger - this will relax your muscles and make you feel wonderful.

Before applying polish, rinse off the massage lotion and pat your hands with a dry napkin. Apply thin and even coats of polish and finish it with a clear topcoat to avoid chipping.
